STATE CONVENTION NEWS The AAUW Florida State Convention will be at the Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort and Marina from April 20-22, 2012.It is located at 555 NE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, 34996. It has both a beach and a pool in addition to the marina. Linda Hallman, AAUW's Executive Director will be the Friday evening speaker and will be with us for the balance of the weekend. On Friday there will be Impact Grant training regarding the voter education activities for all branches prior to the November 2012 elections. Lunch will be provided for all grant training attendees. We are pleased to have been awarded a Legal Advocacy Fund speaker again this year. Tuesday March 20th is the deadline to make room reservations at the Hutchinson Island Marriott. Call 1-800-775-5936 and ask for reservations and then state that you want the AAUW Convention rate: Single and double rooms are $115 plus tax. Room rate includes free parking. Sunday, April 1st. Early registration deadline for state convention. Click on registration to access the registration form. Dues Remember to send your subsequent reports for late renewals or new members to AAUW and Diane Boyce, AAUW Florida's Director for Finance in a timely manner utilizing the Member Services Database (MSD) in the Member Center on the AAUW site and the Florida Form available in either Excel, Microsoft Word or pdf on this site. From now until March 15th new members may join AAUW and AAUW-Florida at half the regular rates, a savings of $30.50. Updating Your AAUW Membership Information Have you moved, changed your phone number or email address recently? If so you need to change your contact information with AAUW in order to continue to receive Outlook, FloriVision, Public Policy Alerts, etc and if you are an officer to continue to receive timely information pertinent to your position. It's easy to do this. Log on to www.aauw.org and click on the Member Center listing at the top of the page. If you don't know your member number click on member ID lookup and follow the directions. From then on follow the directions for entering the member services database ((MSD). When you have done that click on branch member contact maintenance and follow the directions to correct your contact information. It's probably a good idea to copy down your member number of print out your ID card. Who Is Eligible to Serve as Florida Leader-on-Loan?

you like to share your knowledge or experience that would be helpful to a branch
or interbranch? Read on.
Any member of AAUW Florida is eligible to enroll as a
Leader-on-Loan by completing the enrollment form located on the forms page of
this website. Leaders-on-Loan visit branches that have requested
assistance on a particular topic. These might be: membership growth with special
emphasis on younger women, membership retention, membership participation,
rejuvenating a branch, branch records and reports to national and state, public
policy, public relations, fundraising, STEM, Pay Equity, International Women’s
Day, other mission-based programs, collaborating with other organizations,
recruiting colleges and universities for AAUW partnership and/or to offer $tart
$mart workshops, grant writing, developing websites, Florida website training,
and conflict resolution. The state reimburses each Leader-on-Loan for the travel
expenses incurred and if meals and an overnight stay are required the branch
requesting assistance is responsible for those.
