Founded in 1881, AAUW is open to all graduates who hold a associate or equivalent, baccalaureate or higher degree from a qualified educational institution, a degree from a foreign institution recognized by the International Federation of University Women (IFUW), or a foreign degree acceptable as a basis for admission to graduate schools at regionally accredited universities in the United States as well as students enrolled at qualified educational institutions. Florida AAUW is  represented by branches in 42 Florida communities and 3,567 members, in addition to 1000 Members-at-Large. Florida AAUW was founded on March 30, 1929.

  • The AAUW Educational Foundation provides funds to advance education, research, and self-development for women and to foster equity and positive societal change.

  • The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination in the workplace.

  • In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability.
