  • ABOUT US

    We support the PACE Center for Girls, a program that provides a better future for at-risk girls through education and counseling.

    We have been delivering meals on Meals on Wheels in both Sun City and Kings Point for more than10 years.

    We purchase books for the Sun City Center Library and for community elementary school girls.

    We provide scholarships for deserving mature women in the community.
    Networks with other clubs and the Community Association

                                        MEETING LOCATION AND TIME

Most branch meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month, October through May. Ordinarily there is a social hour followed by a business meeting with a noon luncheon and a speaker.
 

  2011-12 CALENDAR OF  EVENTS

February is our month to deliver meals on wheels in our community. This requires 14 teams to deliver meals seven days of the week.  Volunteers are still needed for the Saturday deliveries and for backup teams. More information in this issue of Communicator.

Tuesday, February 7th - 11:30 am  Annual Women of Distinction Luncheon in the Community Hall. Tables of 8 - 10 are $20 per person. Individual tickets at $20 each are also available. Tickets must be purchased by February 4th.

Saturday, March 10th - Moving Forward on Your Own: A Financial Guidebook for Widows.  Kathleen Rehl, speaker.

March 20th - State convention room reservation deadline at the Hutchinson Island Marriot Beach Resort and Marina.  Call 1-800-775-5936 and ask for reservations and then state that you want the AAUW Convention rate: Single and double rooms are $115 plus tax.  Room rate includes free parking.

Saturday, April 14th - The Lincoln Assassination.  Michael Deeb, Speaker.

Tuesday, April 17th - Equal Pay Day

Saturday, May 12th - Annual Scholarship Luncheon.

April 20-22, 2012 - AAUW Florida Annual Convention.  Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort and Marina.  555 NE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, 34996.

May 31- June 2 - Annual National Conference for College Women Student Leaders. University of Maryland, College Park.
