ABOUT US

Annual branch activities include sponsoring  a Math Superstar competition for all the elementary schools and sponsoring a few schools to compete in the Odyssey of the Mind Program.

The branch also awards a variety of scholarships to women in need of financial assistance to attend a technical program or college or to continue pursuing a college degree. View or download the information about the scholarships, the requirements and the application here.
  Submission deadline is March 19, 2012.  Submission requirements are included in the information about the applications.


MEETING DATES, PLACE AND TIME:

The Manatee County Branch meets the 2nd Saturday, September through May at 9:00AM at the Bradenton Country Club.  Please contact Eunice Hartshorn for reservations. Reservations must be made by the Wednesday prior to the Saturday meeting.

                                             2011-2012 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Saturday, February 4th - 11 am - Mardi Gras Fashion Show and Card Party. Bradenton Country Club. Reservation deadline is January 29th. Reservation requests and questions should be directed to Pam at pparme9187@aol.com.

Saturday, March 10th - 9 am.  Health Needs for Retired or Pre-retired  Members.  Speaker: Jamie Freeman. Bradenton Country Club.  Make your reservation with Eunice at ehartshorn@yahoo.com by February 29th. $13 for brunch; all others $3.

March 20th - State convention room reservation deadline at the Hutchinson Island Marriot Beach Resort and Marina.  Call 1-800-775-5936 and ask for reservations and then state that you want the AAUW Convention rate: Single and double rooms are $115 plus tax.  Room rate includes free parking.

Saturday, April 14th - 9 am.  Mental Health: Finding the Right Balance for Yourself and Others During Retirement Years. Speaker: Jane Pavich. Bradenton Country Club.  Make your reservation with Eunice at ehartshorn@yahoo.com by April 11th. $13 for brunch; all others $3.

Tuesday, April 17th - Equal Pay Day

April 20-22, 2012 - Annual AAUW Florida State Convention.  Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort and Marina.  555 NE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, 34996.

Thursday, April 26th.  Math Superstars Competition for 4th and 5th grade students.  The winning two students from each school will compete in the final by taking a 45 minute challenge test.

Saturday, May 12th  Scholarship Luncheon and Installation of New Officers.
