The purpose of AAUW is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.

NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY BRANCH


AREA SERVED

Located west of Fort Lauderdale in growing Western Broward County, the Nova Southeastern   Branch draws members from throughout that part of the county and particularly serves the campus community of Nov Southeastern University. Members include faculty, students and others from nearby communities.  The Nova Southeastern  Branch was formed in September 2008.

                                                      BRANCH MEETINGS

Branch meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Alvin Sherman Library Room 3015 from 5:30 - 6:30 on the University campus at 3301 College Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33314.

If you are unable to attend a meeting you can also join the meetings virtually via Dim Dim.  All you need is a computer with internet access!  You can participate either by typing in your comments (chatting) or if you have a microphone you can speak directly to the group.  When the meeting has started, you can join it by visiting the following website: https://my.dimdim.com/nsu-aauw

ABOUT US

AAUW-Nova, PACE Center for Girls Broward and the Alvin Sherman Library have begun a collaborative effort composed of the following objectives:
1) to support the PACE Center’s educational objectives;
2) expose PACE students to college life: curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular; 3) provide NSU students with an opportunity to teach and learn alongside PACE students;
 4) offer all students professional support networks and opportunities for building self-esteem;
 5) support the Alvin Sherman Library’s community outreach goals;
 6) further the mission of NSU-AAUW to support women and girls through education and philanthropy. 
Meetings are scheduled for November 12th, January 4th, February 11th, March 4th, April 15th and May 4th

AAUW-Nova offers two awards:  One covers registration fees to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders at the University of Maryland, College Park.  The other is an Undergraduate Symposium Award.  For additional information contact Julie at jg15ll@nova.edu.
